JWs unrecognisable compared to my grandfathers time
by ExBethelitenowPIMA inmy grandfather who has been dead for 37 years would not recognise the borganisation today.
he would turn in his grave if he knew the end didn’t come by 2023.. back in the 1970s he really believed in the 75 thing.
he was so disappointed and almost blamed everyone else why the end didn’t come.

McDonald’s used to be the number one property owner worldwide now that the Borg took ownership of all KHs they surpassed even McDonald’s
The kingdom hall where i live--Ryde, Isle of Wight---was right next door to a big McDonalds--with drive through. Highly successful-prime site
this was grabbed and sold--its now a vetinary hospital
McDees is to the right--out of shot
Heres the McDees--the white sign extreme left is for the KH--before it was sold

Who said it was ok to sell off all the halls that were dedicated to Jehovah?
I think this is a major mistake by the society.
When i grew up in it--most dubs longed for their own hall--most meetings were in rented places--often school buildings in the evenings and weekends.
Then--when funds had been raised --by the congregation--building land bought--and the halls were mostly built by the brothers themselves--and dedicated to jehovah. They were very proud of it--and felt a sense of belonging.
The big snatch and sell off must have been devastating--especially to the older ones who had fought and saved for years. Jehovah had left the building. Nothing to show for years of dedication. Played. Had over.

Treatment of Those Trying For Reinstatement
by Vanderhoven7 inwhat happens when a jehovah’s witness who has been disfellowshipped returns to attending the meetings again?.
mark jones writes:.
if it's the same congregation that they previously attended then, yes, the congregation will remember who they are and so continue to treat them as dead or invisible.. one of the identifying marks a cult is that it uses shame and humiliation to control members, to keep them from leaving and manipulating those who escaped into coming back.. a disfellowshipped person is never allowed to quietly leave with dignity.

If a df really wants to get back in..move to a new area..wait for a door knocker..show interest..have bible study for a few weeks then attend meetings as an interested person.
By then the desire will have probably gone.

Moral responsibility.
by nicolaou inno subtlety here, it's going to be obvious where i'm going with this.
please consider the following scenario.. you're seated on a railway platform bench waiting for your train.
a high speed intercity is about to hurtle through without stopping when you see a small child running to the platforms edge!

going back to the opening post---
in the 2000s till 2015 i was a volunteer at the local heritage steam railway.
As the steam railway played host to 1000's of visiting children every year ( familes, school parties, special events including santa claus ), all members of staff had to undergo a police check (DBS) as we were in close proximity to children. We were specifically instructed NOT to touch the children.
I often wondered what would happen in such an emergency as post # 1

Just think of god as a figment of the imagination..then it all makes perfect sense and you can get on with living the rest of life.
